Hand writing analysis for the purpose of identifying a person has been proven to be very effective and it is why that this method is used in forensics. Since it is almost as effective as fingerprints, our handwriting is constantly used to validate the authenticity of important contracts and documents (Signature).
The use of graphology for the purpose of revealing the personality and disposition of a person is considered more as a fortune telling method than as a science but surprisingly, it is widely used by many companies for their employment process. The analysis is done by the study of pretty much every aspects of a written text, like the way the letters are formed, the relation between them, the spacing, the pen pressure and much more. They do their conclusions by comparing their findings with a huge list of examples and their meaning. Even if a good part of the process is technical, there is a part who is about following your intuition in order to fill the blanks.
Graphology is also used as an alternative medicine by some health institutions.
